Proteose peptone and HM peptone B supply nitrogenous and carbonaceous compounds. Yeast extract provides vitamin B complex and dextrose is the fermentable carbohydrate and energy source. Polysorbate 80 supplies fatty acids required for the metabolism of Lactobacilli.
